On 7 January 2026, near Htone Bo Kone village (Wetlet township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and a combined force of the People's Defense Force-Shwebo District (Battalion-2 Company-4) after about 200-250 soldiers, stationed in Htone Bo Kone village, advanced toward Shar Kwe village. Casualties unknown.
