On 7 January 2026, near Tar Ka Lay village (Minhla township, Thayawady district, Bago-West region), the local resistance groups attacked an outpost of the Myanmar military on the Yangon-Pyay road at around 4:45 am. In response, the Myanmar military fired back. The military soldiers in Ah Nyar Tan Gyi village also fired heavy weapons during the armed clash. Casualties unknown.
