On 7 January 2026, armed clashes erupted between a group of armed men and police forces (coded as prison guards) and Giant Brigades forces in the central prison of Sabir (Tuban, Lahij) after the armed men attempted to storm into the prison to release prisoners sentenced to death. The clash resulted in the injury of 1 prisoner. The armed men were arrested.
