On 7 January 2026, an IED planted by AQAP militants exploded on the 32 Brigade of the 3rd Division of the Giants forces' vehicle near the entrance of Murrah Camp (Ataq, Shabwah) killing 3 soldiers, injuring between 3 to 7 others, and damage the car. The IED was planted on the road and exploded during the passage of the military vehicle.
