On 7 January 2026, in Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais), five unidentified armed men with rifles shot and killed a man in the Santa Rita neighborhood. The perpetrators arrived in a vehicle equipped with a siren and introduced themselves as civil police officers. This was the second attack against him; he was injured on 30 December 2025 (coded separately), at the Jose Edson Cavalieri Prison. He was the brother-in-law of an inmate at the facility. The civil police suspect that the crime was committed as a result of disputes related to drug trafficking gangs. 1 fatality.
