On 7 January 2026, clashes and shelling exchange for the second day in a row between Syrian army members and Asayish forces in the vicinity of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo - Sheikh Maqsoud city using light, medium and heavy weapons, amid Syrian army forces targeting the area near the vegetables market with a suicide drone. Clashes resulted in killing one Asayish member and an unknown man, and injuring a number of civilians. Asayish forces shot down one Syrian army drone. It was reported that Asayish forces used civilians as human shields. 2 fatalities.
