On 7 January 2026, clashes and shelling exchange for the second day in a row between Syrian army members and Asayish forces in the vicinity of Al-Ashrafiyya neighborhood in Aleppo - Al-Ashrafiyya city using light, medium and heavy weapons and a suicide drone, killing 1 Syrian army member and an unknown man, and injuring a number of civilians. Asayish forces shot down one Syrian army drone. It was reported that Asayish forces used civilians as human shields. 2 fatalities.
