On 6 January 2026, unidentified militants (coded as TTP) detonated an IED targeting the office of a former mayor in the market area of Domail town (Bannu, KPK). The IED detonated at the gate as Wazir sat in his vehicle, causing minor injuries and damaging the gate and vehicle. The former mayor, known for anti-militancy activism and organizing tribal militias, had been scheduled to host a jirga (tribal meeting) of tribal elders later that day. 1 injured and no fatalities.
