On 6 January 2026, in Taungtha town (Taungtha township, Myingyan district, Mandalay region), fighting broke out between around 60 Myanmar military and Pyu Saw Htee members who advanced from the town in four vehicles and the People's Defense Force - Myingyan District Battalion - 3 that were setting fire to the government staff housing (coded separately). During the armed clash, the military fired 60 mm and 40 mm heavy weapons. 2 military soldiers were killed. 2 fatalities.
