On 6 January 2026, in Dzilam Gonzalez, Yucatan, armed individuals shot and killed three people and injured another two while they were drinking in Colonia Taiwan. According to investigations, the victims were responsible for the arrest of a drug dealer and a member of the Caborca Cartel a month ago. The investigations indicated that the cartel member was hidden in this community until the victims gave them away. The perpetrators, who were drug dealers (likely Caborca Cartel members), were looking for the father of the victims as payback for the arrest; however, he was not on scene, only his sons. 3 fatalities.
