On 6 January 2026, Houthi military and security forces clashed with local armed tribesmen from al-Zaraniq tribe in Nafhan market (Bayt Al Faqiah, Al Hudaydah) using light to medium weapons after the Houthi forces stormed into the market to 'intimidate' locals who were resisting recruitment into the Houthis' military. The clashes resulted in the killing 2 Houthi fighters, including 1 supervisor and 1 Houthi fighter, who was the son of the district security director, and the injury of 3 other Houthi fighters, including the district's security director. 1 tribesman was also killed in the clashes. 3 total fatalities.
