On 6 January 2026, in Gonaives, Artibonite, according to witnesses, police forces shot and killed a gang member during clashes in the Marotte area. The victim was killed near a construction site belonging to the Polda Gang leader, and was identified as a very close person to the gang leader. The killing motivated the setting up of burning barricades by residents the day after (coded separately). 1 fatality.
