On 6 January 2026, in Vila Velha (Espirito Santo), rival gang members exchanged fire in the Morro do Jaburuna community. During the shooting, a man and a teenager were shot and injured. The military police arrested a teenage suspect. This was the second exchange of fire in the day in the community (coded separately), which is in the midst of a dispute following a split between members of the local drug gang. There were no fatalities.
