On 6 January 2026, in Saquarema (Rio de Janeiro), the civil police exchanged fire with a drug trafficker in the Porto da Roca neighborhood. A police agent was shot and injured. There was another exchanged of fire in the Boqueirao neighborhood, where a suspect was shot and injured. In total, officers arrested three suspects and seized drugs. There were no fatalities.
