On 6 January 2026, unidentified individuals suspected of being members of the Gok/Gak Dinka community shot and injured an individual at an unspecified location in Tonj Payam (Tonj South County, Warrap State). The perpetrators seized the victim's firearm and abducted his sister. The family members of one of the suspects were arrested.
