On 6 January 2026, MPC clashed with the UPC militia at a gold mining site in Fiesse, near Markounda (Markounda, Ouham). 1 MPC militia member was killed, and another was seriously injured in the leg. The clashes began over a dispute about priority in a gold smelting operation, escalating from verbal threats to the use of heavy weapons. The deceased militia member was the brother of MPC General Dido.
