On 6 January 2026, in Nombre de Dios, Durango, there was an armed clash between armed individuals and the National Guard around El Saltito on the Mexico-Tampico highway during a police patrol, after armed individuals shot at the authorities. One officer was killed. A young boy was also shot and killed with a stray bullet. Later, another officer who was also shot and injured died at the hospital. 3 fatalities.
