On 5 January 2026, Ukrainian drones struck the Energiya battery plant with produce of both civilian and military applications in Elets, Lipetsk. Some of the drones were intercepted, and the debris fell over the residential areas of the town. 1 civilian woman was injured. Fires broke out on the territory of the plant, the blazes were extinguished on the same day. Within the town, the glazing of several apartment buildings, and a domestic gas pipe were damaged.
