On 5 January 2026, in Hata village (Hakha township, Hakha district, Chin state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike and dropped a bomb at around 12 am when people were sleeping. The airstrike immediately killed three family members, including a mother and two sons. A father who was critically injured later died around noon the following day due to his injuries. The airstrike also injured other family members, including an 8-year-old girl, a 29-year-old pregnant woman, a 14-year-old girl, and a 30-year-old man. The airstrike also damaged the houses. 4 fatalities.
