On 5 January 2026, a tribal boy was injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast suspectedly triggered by Naxal-Maoist cadres around 4-5 km from the Korcholi CRPF camp in the dense jungle belt in Gangaloor region (Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh), when he went out to collect items for livelihood. CRPF rescued the victim and shifted him to the Bijapur district hospital for further treatment. The victim suffered severe injuries to his leg and one leg was blown off in the explosion.
