On 5 January 2026, unidentified militants (coded as TTP) opened fire at a police check post in the jurisdiction of Fateh Pur police station in Mianwali district (Mianwali, Punjab), near the KPK border, when they were asked to stop by police personnel. Militants flew from the scene. There were no casualties.
