On 5 January 2026, TTP militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a passenger vehicle carrying Begu Khel tribe members of the Lakki Cement Factory in Lakki Marwat District (Lakki Marwat, KPK). One person was killed and 8-11 others were injured, including two women. Local sources claim that militant gunfire also targeted the vehicle after the explosion. TTP militants regularly target tribal groups that have set up armed militia groups (peace committees) to protect against militants. 1 fatality and 8-11 injured.
