On 5 January 2026, unidentified assailants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) on a bus - carrying factory workers - attached to a motorcycle along Begukhel Road near Nawar Khel village (Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) in a suspected militant attack. One person was killed and 11 others were inured.
