On 5 January 2026, near Thit Seint Kone village (Kawlin township, Kawlin district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike with two jet fighters targeting an oil refinery. The airstrike injured 3 people, one of whom was in critical condition. The airstrike also damaged surrounding buildings.
