On 5 January 2026, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike targeting an IDP camp in Al Mawasi (Khan Yunis) (Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip). Four individuals were killed and several others were injured in the attack. The IDF said it targeted a Hamas militant who was planning to attack the Israeli forces.
