On 5 January 2026, government security forces (likely ENDF, given their presence in the area escorting public transport buses) exchanged fire with an unidentified armed group in Ali Doro, Degem (North Shewa, Oromia), after the armed group opened fire on a public transport bus carrying 51 passengers, injured 3 to 4 passengers and abducted 4 men (coded separately). The disrupted journey resumed after security forces arrived at the scene and exchanged fire with the abductors. Casualties unknown.
