On 5 January 2026, for the second of two days, M23 clashed against Wazalendo in Mwendo (Ngweshe, Walungu, Sud-Kivu), as well as in Bumbalali and Cirhavanyi (coded separately). Several houses were damaged by 'bombs dropped by M23' (likely shelling due to past activity). There were no civilian fatalities on this second day. Combatant casualties unknown.
