On 5 January 2026, overnight, Azande Ani Kpi Gbe militia attacked the Zemio hospital (Zemio, Haut-Mbomou), targeting injured FACA soldiers admitted for treatment. 2 soldiers were killed, and hospital staff were forced to disperse, leaving patients without care. The attack followed clashes between the Azande Ani Kpi Gbe militia and FACA forces in the town on 2 January 2026 (coded separately).
