On 4 January 2026, near Ma Thon village (Padaung township, Pyay district, Bago-West region), a combined force of the Arakan Army (ULA/AA) and allies attacked a column of about 200 Myanmar military soldiers between Point 666 hill and No. 16 Defense Industry at around 3:00 pm for the second day. At least 10 military soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel, were killed. Fatalities coded as 10, using the most recent estimates.
