On 4 January 2026, in Mogoke town (Mogoke township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the Myanmar military fired heavy weapons two times without an armed clash occurring. The shells fell and exploded in the Yadanar Thiri monastery in Lel Oo ward and in the No.4 Basic Education High School around 8 am. A monk and a woman were killed. A child was injured. The monastery was also damaged. 2 fatalities.
