On 4 January 2026, a roadside IED planted by Al Shabaab exploded, targeting a Toyota Land Cruiser between Marsatha Ciige and Kudkudaaleey village near Run-nirgod village (Adan Yabaal, Middle Shabelle). The land cruiser was transporting civilian passengers heading to the Ceel Dheere district of the Galgadud region. More than 10 civilians were killed, and 4 others were injured.
