On 4 January 2026, 2 groups (described as Nyarmong sections and Paan Agok and likely from the Apuk section of the Rek Dinka community, who are predominant in the area) clashed in Awutwut village, Toch East Payam (location coded to Agor, the nearest known location in Gogrial East County, Warrap State). The incident was linked to revenge and had begun on 2 January 2026 when a cousin of a Nyarmong local chief was killed in Awutwut village, before continuing on 3 January. Warrap State government deployed security forces to restore order and prevent further violence. The 3-day incident resulted in at least 17 fatalities and 8 injuries. 17 fatalities split over 3 days and coded as 5 for this event.
