On 4 January 2026, SPLM/A-IO members clashed with SSPDF forces in Tharwangyiela and Tor-abith areas of Budang Payam (location coded to Tor, the nearest known location in Rubkona County, Unity State). SPLM/A-IO claimed to have captured a government base in Tor-abith, a claim denied by state authorities, who said SSPDF repelled attacks and maintained control. The clash led to the displacement of an unspecified number of civilians. Casualties unknown.
