On 4 January 2026, overnight, Azande Ani Kpi Gbe militia clashed with FACA forces in Zemio (Zemio, Haut-Mbomou). Civilians fled to the Catholic church, hospital compounds, and some moved toward South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Casualties unknown.
