On 3 January 2026, in Mabein town (Mabein township, Mongmit district, Shan-North state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike and dropped bombs with a fighter jet that fell and exploded at a guest house around midnight. A civilian was killed and three civilians were injured. A nearby restaurant and a house were also damaged. 1 fatality.
