On 3 January 2026, armed clashes with the exchange of gunfire took place between Syrian police and National Guard fighters along the Mazra'a - Walgha axis in rural As Sweida after the latter attacked the former, injuring Syrian police members along the axis and three National Guard fighters (along several axes). There were no fatalities.
