On 3 January 2026, suspected Al Shabaab launched an attack against the Khorof Harar Quick Response Unit (QRU) camp (Wajir East, Wajir). The attack was initiated with rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), followed by an exchange of gunfire from both sides. There were no casualties on the side of the police. Al Shabaab claimed that an unspecified number of officers were killed. Unspecified fatalities coded as 3.
