On 3 January 2026, overnight, government security forces (Danab) and Jubaland security forces clashed with Al Shabaab in Hargeysa Yare village (Jilib, Middle Juba). The operation was supported by airstrikes from US forces. 12 - 15 militants, including 3 senior members, were killed.
