On 3 January 2026, the Nigerian Air Force conducted an airstrike on an unidentified armed group in Karaduwa (Matazu, Katsina), killing 23 assailants. The assailants fled Kano after being repelled by security forces during the initial attacks in Shanono and Tsanyawa (coded separately).
