On 3 January 2026, suspected ENDF soldiers clashed with Fano near Ayehu, also called Azena (Ankasha, Awi, Amhara), leading to the killings of 10 ENDF soldiers (fatalities uncorroborated). The ENDF soldiers summarily executed 17 daily laborers as retaliation on the same day (coded separately).
