On 3 January 2026, for the second day, Fano (AFNF) claimed to have clashed with ENDF near Debre Markos (Debre Markos town, East Gojam, Amhara), killing 2 regiment commanders, 5 majors, and 420 soldiers (fatalities uncorroborated). Fano further claimed to have wounded 137 and captured 59 ENDF soldiers, including 2 majors, and seized various types of weapons and ammunition. Fano indicated that it destroyed the 25th regiment of the ENDF and routed it while the latter were moving to Choke Mountain from Debre Markos town. Uncorroborated number of fatalities coded as 10, split across the two dates, and coded as 5 for this event.
