CBRN event in Palestine on Wed 25th June 2025
25th June 2025
Before dawn on Wednesday, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian woman in her home, after the army invaded the Shu’fat refugee camp, north of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the occupied West Bank. The Jerusalem Governorate announced the death of Zahiyya Jouda Al-Obeidi, 66, after Israeli forces shot her in the head during their invasion of the Shu’fat refugee camp. The Palestinian woman was killed during a large-scale Israeli military invasion of the refugee camp, following the incursion of undercover soldiers and military units into its alleys. They fired barrages of live rounds, gas bombs, and concussion grenades, resulting in multiple suffocation injuries and widespread panic among residents. Hours after the soldiers killed Zahiyya, the Israeli army and security services summoned her husband for interrogation. In recent weeks, the Shu’fat refugee camp—along with other Palestinian communities in occupied Jerusalem—has experienced daily military incursions, including violent home invasions, resident interrogations, and numerous abductions. The Shireen Observatory confirmed that the elderly female was shot by occupation soldiers while she was standing in the window inside her home in the refugee camp.
