On 3 January 2026, a Katsina militia attacked and killed 1 Islamic scholar while he was returning from his mother in the Kadisau community, location coded to the nearest town of Kadisau (Faskari, Katsina). The victim was the chief Imam of Mahuta town's central mosque. The militia first abducted him and later killed him.
