On 2 January 2026, near Saing Kaung village (Natmauk township, Magway district, Magway region), the People's Defense Force - Natmauk (PaKaPha) who were conducting road inspections on the Saing Kaung - Ywar Mon road opened fire at three Myanmar military soldiers in a vehicle as they refused to stop for inspection and attempted to drive away around 8 am. 2 military soldiers were killed and the PDF troops seized two MA-3 rifles, eight magazines and 200 rounds of 5.6 ammunition. 2 fatalities.
