On 2 January 2026, in Viamao (Rio Grande do Sul), unidentified armed individuals shot and killed a man in the Vila Augusta neighborhood, in an area known as Troia Alley. The area is known for drug trafficking activity, controlled by Os Manos gang, and police suspected the killing may be linked to drug trafficking. The victim had no prior criminal records and had recently moved to the area. 1 fatality.
