On 1 January 2026, in Delmas - Delmas 40b, Ouest, a police officer shot and killed two people in Delmas 40A. The victims were the driver of a truck and a woman that was with him. According to witnesses, the officer used his service firearm to execute the man after he had unintentionally disturbed an electrical cable supplying the business of the officer's wife in the area. The woman died of her injuries. 2 fatalities.
