On 1 January 2026, suspected Fano militia members clashed with Oromia state police in Indode Dicho (Gida Ayana, East Wellega, Oromia). The Oromia state police were escorting public transport vehicles (buses) that were traveling from Gida Ayana to Nekemte town. Casualties unknown.
