On 1 January 2026, a Katsina militia attacked Baban Duhu (Malumfashi, Katsina), Yakwanda village in Kano, and other villages. The Nigerian military confronted them and repelled their attack. The militia killed 1 person in Kankwanda and looted 100 cattle (coded separately).
