In Mandalay Region’s Ngazun Township, a military convoy heading to reinforce Myotha Police Station was attacked with landmines, killing 15 soldiers, according to Ko Nyein Chan, the leader of the Special Task Force Ngazun group, who spoke to Yangon Khit Thit News.
On January 19, five military vehicles carrying around 150 junta troops left their temporary base in the Myotha industrial zone to reinforce Myotha Police Station. The Special Task Force Ngazun’s Pyauk Kyar column ambushed them with command-detonated landmines at two locations along the main road in the Myotha industrial zone. During the attack, 15 junta soldiers were killed and many others were injured, according to reports.
