At 1445 CST on 1/18/2026, Browns Ferry Unit 1 high pressure coolant injection (HPCI) was declared inoperable due to 1-FCV-073-0006A, [HPCI steam line condensate inboard drain valve], and 1-FCV-073-0006B, [HCPI steam line condensate inboard drain valve], being found closed. "This condition is being reported as an 8-hour non-emergency notification per 10-CFR 50.72(b)(3)(v). "There was no impact to the health and safety of the public or plant personnel. The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified." The following additional information was obtained from the licensee in accordance with Headquarters Operations Officers Report Guidance: The HCPI steam line condensate inboard and outboard drain valves are air operated solenoid valves that failed closed. The cause is under investigation and restoration to the normal open position is currently in process. Technical Specification 3.3.5.1 Condition C was entered with a 14-day limiting condition for operation (LCO).
